Don't remind me again today

Something weird's happening with the numbers. Back in 1950, around 3.6 million babies were born. Fast forward to 2024? Still about 3.63 million babies. Sounds fine until you realize the population MORE than doubled in between.

Here's the kicker: Total Fertility Rate just crashed to a historic low—roughly 1.60 kids per woman. That's way below the 2.1 replacement level needed to keep things stable.

What does this mean long-term? Aging workforce. Shrinking consumer base. Potential economic headwinds nobody's talking about yet. The demographic shift is real, and it's already baked into the next few decades.

Has the birth rate dropped to 1.6? Oh my, that's really bad. There's actually a ticking time bomb behind these numbers... Once aging hits, how will the economy cope? Where have all the young people gone? The willingness to have children is unbelievably low. Don't tell me no one is talking about this—this should be the hottest topic of discussion.

This number looks ridiculous at first glance, with the population doubling but the fertility rate falling like this... How will the economy play out in the coming decades?

The birth rate has collapsed; this data really can't be held together anymore.

nah this data is chilling when you think about it... population doubles but the number of births hasn't changed? --- So we really are slowly getting older, who will catch a falling knife for the economy? --- 1.6 kids? How do we live on like this... --- Why does it feel like watching a slow-motion economic collapse? --- No wonder everything is so expensive now, the consumption base is shrinking. --- Wait a minute, with such a low fertility rate, what will happen to our pensions... --- Speaking of which, this is the real Black Swan Event, scarier than any market fluctuation. --- With fewer people, there should be more job opportunities, right? No, we still have to pay taxes to support the elderly. --- This demographic time bomb is being overlooked, everyone is busy with Cryptocurrency Trading. --- Can't even reach 2.1? Then future taxes will have to be heavily levied on the young.
