I don’t sell puts cash secured.


I secure with my base portfolio and keep ratios in check.

For example, if you have a million dollar account, in a fair valued market we may sell $500k -750k worth of assignment value puts.

Ratios are always in check and AV is dependent on market valuation, etc…

Therefore, no cash is sitting around.
BUT, right now the market is lofty so I’m not as against cash secured... but at the end of the day, if you sell puts, you are bullish so you prob wanna have that cash allocated to something such as the base portfolio or what you are selling the puts on.
