New York, Minnesota and Maryland Democratic governors said on Wednesday that they will support President Biden's reelection campaign, after frank discussions with Biden about his poor performance in last week's debate. "The president has always been our backer. We want to be his backer," Maryland Governor Wes Moore told reporters after meeting with Biden and Vice President Harris at the White House. The attendees included 24 Democratic governors and the mayor of Washington, D.C., some of whom participated online. Moore said the governors candidly conveyed negative feedback from voters about Biden's poor performance in the debate against Republican rival Trump. He said there is obviously work to be done before the November 5th election, but Biden has made it clear that he will continue to run. New York Governor Kathy Hochul said she felt confident after the meeting and all governors pledged to support Biden. She said President Biden "is fighting to win the election".
