The US government released some initial claim data: most have been revised upward.

Odaily News The official website of the U.S. government shows that for the week ending October 18, the number of initial unemployment claims was 232,000; the number of continuing unemployment claims was 1,957,000, an increase from the previous week's number of 1,947,000. At the same time, for the week ending September 20, the number of initial unemployment claims was revised up from 218,000 to 219,000, and the four-week moving average was revised up from 237,500 to 237,750. For the week ending September 13, the number of continuing unemployment claims was revised down from 1,926,000 to 1,916,000. The U.S. government website has not yet released the initial unemployment claims data for the weeks ending September 27, October 4, October 11, October 25, November 1, and November 8. If the government had not shut down, these six sets of data should have been released. (Jin10)
