Hedge funds such as Qube, Virtu, and Jump are hiring weekend crypto assets traders.
Gate News bot message, London-based global Quantitative Investment management company Qube Research & Technologies is currently recruiting for the position of "Crypto Assets | Quantitative Trader (Weekend Shift)" which requires working on weekends in addition to a four-day work week.
The job responsibilities for this position include overseeing the ongoing trading of Crypto Assets, monitoring strategy performance and risks, as well as executing signals and datasets. The position requires working every other weekend and working four regular day shifts each week.
Other traditional financial companies are also expanding their recruitment for Crypto Assets to cover the weekend period. The US high-frequency trading firm Virtu Financial is hiring a weekend trader in Singapore to handle digital asset trading outside of weekday trading hours.
Jump Trading's Crypto Assets division originally planned to hire a weekend trader in Chicago. The position is currently not open, indicating that the company may have found a suitable candidate.
As large hedge funds and trading firms are forming Crypto Assets teams and infrastructure for round-the-clock operations, the demand for Crypto Assets positions on weekends is also increasing.
Brevan Howard's dedicated cryptocurrency division, BH Digital, currently has dozens of employees, including more than 15 portfolio managers, over 10 data scientists/traders, and 20 external engineers supporting its strategy.
Steve Cohen's hedge fund Point72 is also expanding. Its Cubist quantitative division is hiring a quantitative developer focused on Crypto Assets in Paris.
CoinShares revealed in a report in March that seven of the top ten holders of Bitcoin ETF shares are hedge funds. The company stated: "Hedge funds alone account for 41% of all 13-F Bitcoin ETF holdings, surpassing investment advisors for the first time."
