Pavel Durov: TON Transaction Fees Drop 6 Times, Heading Towards 'Zero Fee'
Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a massive reduction in transaction fees on the TON network. Starting next week, transaction fees in the TON ecosystem will decrease sixfold to just 0.00039 TON or equivalent to $0.0005 per transaction.
Through a post on platform X on Friday (24/4) local time, Durov emphasized that these fees are fixed and will not be affected by network load. This move is part of TON's ambitious goal to become the most efficient blockchain for mass users.
Furthermore, Durov leaked that TON is preparing to transition to a fee-less system for most activities on its network. "Soon after, most transactions will be completely free. Zero fees. MTONGA! (Make TON Great Again)," he wrote. This aggressive step is believed to further accelerate the mass adoption of decentralized applications (dApps) within the Telegram ecosystem.
