ChainCatcher News, according to The Block report, Toni Wahrstätter, a researcher at the Ethereum Foundation, data shows that over 30% of Ethereum validators have expressed support for increasing the Block Gas limit. Currently, the Gas limit for ETH Block is 30 million and it is planned to increase to 40 million units. Validators can indicate their support for the increase in the limit by modifying the node configuration without the need for a hard fork. Once the support rate exceeds 50%, the Block Gas limit will automatically adjust to the new level. Last year, the ‘Pump the Gas’ initiative, initiated by ETH developer Eric Connor and former MakerDAO smart contract lead Mariano Conti, aimed to raise awareness of the importance of Gas limits in the community. Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin also supported a 33% increase in the Gas limit.
