Golden Finance News reported that on April 1, U.S. President Trump said he expects the United States to end its war with Iran within two to three weeks, suggesting that the U.S. has basically achieved its military goals and leaving the resolution of the Strait of Hormuz issue to other countries. Trump told reporters at the White House on Tuesday: “I want to say within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three weeks. We will leave because we have no reason to keep doing this.” Trump hinted that during this period Iran may still be able to reach an agreement with the United States. He said: “We are finishing the job. I think in about two weeks, maybe a few more days, we’ll be done with the work, but we have to destroy everything they have. Now, we may be able to reach an agreement before that, because we will be striking bridges—we’ve already struck some, and we have a few nice bridges still in mind. But if they’re willing to sit down at the negotiating table, that would be a good thing.” Trump also said that it is not necessary to reach an agreement with Iran for the United States to end the war. When we feel that they are forced back to the Stone Age and can’t manufacture nuclear weapons, whether or not we reach an agreement, we will leave.
