Israeli media: Two Air Force technicians are suspected of “engaging in espionage activities for Iran”
According to Israeli media reports on the 23rd, Israeli law enforcement announced that two Israeli Air Force technicians have been charged with “engaging in espionage activities for Iran.”
According to The Jerusalem Post, these two individuals are accused of committing a series of “security-related crimes on behalf of Iran’s intelligence agency.”
The indictment states that the two “maintained contact with Iranian intelligence for several months” and carried out “various tasks aimed at obtaining economic benefits.”
In a statement, law enforcement said that one of them “transmitted military training materials related to fighter jet systems, as well as images of military base facilities and areas, to an Iranian agent.”
Law enforcement said that the two claimed that after refusing a task “involving weapons,” their contact with the “Iranian agent” was cut off.
However, they later attempted to re-establish contact.
According to The Jerusalem Post, by early April, four active-duty Israeli soldiers had been detained by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) on suspicion of “engaging in espionage activities for Iran.”
