I keep seeing piles of PFPs and membership cards, claiming to be “brands” and “long-term,” but what I see looks more like neon in a night scene: when it’s lit, it’s really bright—once the lights go out, all that’s left is chat logs. Airdrop season is the same; the task platform’s anti–anti-bot (anti-witch) measures have me almost feeling like a suspect, and the points system turns all the hair-pullers into something like clock-in workers… To put it plainly, attention is too expensive—everyone is fighting over those few seconds of stay. I don’t know whether PFPs can really be turned into brands; anyway, what I care about more right now is whether, when I’m at an emotional low point, it can give me a little illusion that “I’m still in this circle.” Forget it.
If I can only keep one habit: don’t place orders when I’m getting swept up emotionally at 1 a.m.
