UBS: The U.S. airline industry may face a wave of layoffs in the coming weeks

Gelonghui April 8 | UBS released a report indicating that the outlook for domestic and total capacity growth in the U.S. airline industry for the second quarter has been downgraded, and more capacity cuts are expected in the coming weeks. Although travel demand remains strong at present, fuel costs have become the second-largest expense after labor, and airlines are passing on costs by increasing ticket prices and ancillary fees, which will ultimately be borne by consumers.
