This Polkadot Exploit Is Very Large ⚠️
It costs $0.74 in gas fees to mint 1 billion FAKE tokens $DOT .
A single transaction with fake proof and no resistance.
Here's what happened 👇
> Hyperbridge is Polkadot's flagship bridge to Ethereum.
> Built by Polytope Labs.
> Marketed as a safe alternative to Ronin and Wormhole.
> Their offer? Cryptographic proof.
> Then they deploy it to production with challenge periods set to zero.
> That means no dispute window or security delay.
> Every fake proof is immediately accepted in the same block.
> An attacker spends months preparing 👀
> Using RAILGUN privacy routing.
> Implementing test contracts weeks prior.
> Then executing the entire exploit in a single atomic transaction.
> Creating fake consensus proofs and unverified clients accept them.
> Taking control of the connected DOT contract admin.
> Minting 1 billion tokens.
> Selling everything for 108 ETH ($237K).
Destroyed.
The consensus client has no public source code and no one can verify it.
Because the challenge window is literally zero seconds.
DOT drops 7% within minutes and halts transfers.
Do you really need to worry as a holder?
The original Polkadot remains untouched.
$DOT Your relay chain is safe.
But if the "unhackable" bridge built with its security system turned off, what does that mean for everything else you trust?
Proof is more important than promises and only valid if you actually use it.#GateFounderDrHan13thAnniversaryLetter #GateSquareAprilPostingChallenge
