XChat Launching April 17 - Should You Trust It With Private Chats?

Elon Musk's new messaging app XChat officially hits the App Store on April 17, 2026, directly challenging WhatsApp, Telegram & Signal.

Key Features:
✅ End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)
✅ No phone number needed, only X account
✅ No ads, no tracking (claimed)
✅ Group chats up to 481 members
✅ Video + voice calls
✅ Disappearing messages (5 min)
✅ Screenshot blocking
✅ Built in Rust + "Bitcoin-style" encryption
✅ 46 languages supported

⚠️ BUT Can Govt Track Your Chats If You Delete Them?
Short answer: YES. Here's why 👇
🔴 Metadata is NOT encrypted, X keeps records of WHO you messaged & WHEN, even after deletion.
🔴 X officially admits, on their own Help page, that "compulsory legal process" (court orders) can compromise your encrypted messages WITHOUT your knowledge.
🔴 Private keys stored on X servers, protected by just a 4-digit PIN (only 10,000 combinations). Signal stores keys on YOUR device.
🔴 No Perfect Forward Secrecy, one key leak = your ENTIRE chat history exposed.
🔴 Indian users: ED, IT Dept & CBI can demand data under IT Act Section 69. Deleting chats on your phone ≠ deleting server metadata.
