I just found out that CDMX recently issued a red alert due to a cold snap that reached -2°C, almost nothing. The thing is, five boroughs were the most affected: Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras, Milpa Alta, and Tlalpan. Those southern areas of the city were practically frozen.

The most intense period was between midnight and 9 a.m., so if anyone had to wake up early, just imagine how it was. Six more boroughs had an orange alert (between 1 and 3°C), and four others had a yellow alert. Basically, the entire south and downtown of the city were affected. The recommendations were to seal windows, dress warmly, and stay hydrated because that extreme cold in CDMX is no joke.

For the other northern and central areas, it was also intense but less severe. Although the temperature rose during the day, the feeling of cold in the shade persisted all the time. It dropped again at night. Those days were undoubtedly some of the coldest of the year.
