Just caught something that's been making rounds in political circles—multiple polls are now showing that voters across the board are getting increasingly concerned about Trump's age and whether he's actually fit to lead. We're talking 56% from a Washington Post/ABC/Ipsos survey saying he's not mentally sharp enough, and Reuters found that over 60% of Americans think his age is making him more erratic. Even about 30% of Republicans are picking up on it.
But here's where it gets interesting. MSNBC's Katy Tur brought up something that's been hard to ignore: the whole thing about Trump sleeping during Cabinet meetings. Like, that's actually a thing people are noticing now. She pointed out that the apparent dozing off during these official meetings definitely isn't doing him any favors. Add to that some of the stranger stuff—like forcing aides to buy his preferred shoe brand in random sizes he just guesses, or claiming he got custom Sharpie pens when the company literally said that didn't happen.
What's also notable is how his speech patterns have shifted. He doesn't sound as energetic or articulate as he did even a few years back. The tangents mid-thought are getting wilder, and there's been this pattern of making claims that just don't hold up—misquoting Maryland's governor, connecting his uncle to the Unabomber, claiming Tucker Carlson apologized to him over stuff Carlson denies.
Then you've got actual medical professionals weighing in. Dr. John Gartner, a psychiatrist who taught at Johns Hopkins, told media outlets he thinks Trump may have experienced a stroke or possibly has early-stage Alzheimer's—the same condition that affected his father. He specifically mentioned Trump's gait as a red flag, describing it as a "wide base gait" that's apparently gotten noticeably worse recently. Dr. Bruce Davidson from Washington State University also suggested Trump had a stroke on the left side of his brain around six months prior, pointing to the shuffling walk and how he's been holding his right hand in his left.
So yeah, the age question isn't just abstract anymore. Between the polls, the visible changes, the sleeping during meetings, and medical experts raising concerns, this is becoming a real conversation. Whether you're left or right, the data is there and people are talking about it.
