Microchip Technology has achieved IEC 62443-4-1 Maturity Level 2 (ML2) certification for its industrial automation and control systems, following an independent audit by UL Solutions. This certification validates that Microchip’s product development processes adhere to “secure by design” requirements, integrating security across hardware and software development from inception to end-of-life. The accomplishment aims to enhance customer confidence, streamline cybersecurity assessments, and facilitate compliance with regulatory requirements like the upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act.
