European Parliament delegation visits China; Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Will promote exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and European legislative bodies

On March 31, Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked about the European Parliament delegation’s plans to visit Beijing and Shanghai from March 31 to April 2. Mao Ning said that exchanges between legislative bodies are an important component of China–EU relations. According to what we understand, at the invitation of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, representatives of the delegation of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection will visit China starting today. We believe this visit will promote exchanges and cooperation between the legislative bodies of China and the EU, deepen the European Parliament’s understanding and recognition of China, and help advance the healthy and steady development of China–EU relations.
