Crypto whales short crude oil futures and profit $2 million

Deep Tidal TechFlow message, on April 08, according to CoinDesk, a crypto whale code-named Loracle closed out a short position in crude oil perpetual futures on the Hyperliquid platform on Wednesday morning, netting $2 million. The whale entered the trade the previous week with $5 million, and exited for profit after crude oil prices plunged by more than 15% on news of a ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. According to Arkham Intelligence data, Loracle currently holds assets such as USDT, USDC, and ETH, with a total value exceeding $8 million. In addition, in the past 24 hours, Hyperliquid’s WTI crude oil perpetual futures trading volume reached $2.45 billion, surpassing Ethereum perpetual futures.
