The statement said this development will help ease tensions in the region, expand opportunities for all parties to de-escalate conflict, and consolidate security and stability in the region. The statement reiterated that Iraq supports all regional and international efforts to contain the crisis and promote dialogue and diplomacy. The statement emphasized the importance of all parties fully complying with the ceasefire, and avoiding any actions that could once again escalate regional tensions. The statement called on all parties, on the basis of this positive initiative, to launch a serious and sustained dialogue process to address the root causes of disagreements and enhance mutual trust.
