On April 8 local time, Ali Nikzad, the Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Islamic Parliament, stated that if the US does not accept Iran’s proposed ten-point ceasefire terms, the Supreme Leader of Iran will not approve the signing of a ceasefire agreement. Nikzad also mentioned that the Strait of Hormuz will not return to its previous state. On the same day, an informed source indicated that Iran’s ‘ten-point plan’ has been accepted as the basis for the ceasefire agreement. The source emphasized that Iran had previously rejected the US’s proposed ‘fifteen-point plan’ and made it clear that any ceasefire must be contingent upon the US accepting Iran’s proposed recommendations, with President Trump needing to formally agree to this. Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz confirmed that Iran and the US, along with their respective allies, agreed to an immediate ceasefire at all locations, including Lebanon and other regions, effective immediately. He invited delegations from both Iran and the US to further negotiate in Islamabad on the 10th to reach a final agreement to resolve all disputes. (CCTV News)
