Been looking at some IRS data and noticed something interesting about where the youngest millionaires are actually settling these days. Turns out a lot of young wealthy people are ditching high-tax states like California and New York, which still have the biggest populations of young millionaires but are actually losing them to places with better tax situations.

The numbers show Florida, Arizona, and Tennessee are gaining the most young wealthy households. Makes sense when you think about it - California's hitting people with 10.3% state income tax, plus mansion taxes on properties over $1M in some areas. People with real money are clearly doing the math and moving to states with no income tax or way lower rates. Florida alone picked up nearly 1,800 net new wealthy young households.

Washington, Colorado, and South Carolina are also seeing solid inflows. The pattern is pretty clear - youngest millionaires are following their wallets, not just chasing the traditional hubs anymore. Tax burden is becoming a bigger factor than ever in where people actually want to build wealth.
