The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing recently released that the China Bulk Commodity Price Index for March was 129.9 points, up 4% month-over-month and up 14.5% year-over-year. Judging from the index’s performance, after the holiday period, enterprise production has rebounded steadily, market demand has been released relatively well, and both supply and demand have shown positive changes in both directions. The foundation for a favorable bulk commodity market has been further strengthened.

By industry, the price indexes for energy and chemicals rose 16.5% and 21.8% month-over-month, respectively, while the price index for agricultural products rose 2.8% month-over-month. By commodity, among the 50 bulk commodities under key monitoring, there were 38 bulk commodities whose prices increased month-over-month. Of these, diesel, methanol, and ethylene glycol saw month-over-month increases of 30.5%, 30.4%, and 29.3%, respectively.
