Xinhua News Agency cited reports from Iranian media saying that Iranian Islamic Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf will lead the Iranian negotiating delegation, to attend talks between Islamabad, Pakistan, and the United States.

Under last-minute diplomatic mediation led by Pakistan, the United States and Iran agreed on a conditional ceasefire for two weeks on Tuesday evening. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in a post on a social media platform that he sincerely invites both delegations to go to Islamabad before Friday to conduct further negotiations on reaching a final agreement and resolving all disputes.

Iran said the talks may last two weeks or longer, and will include terms such as arrangements for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, easing sanctions, and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from bases in the area.

U.S. President Trump believes that the two sides— the United States and Iran— can negotiate the 10-point plan proposed by Tehran, thereby “finalizing and completing” the ceasefire agreement.
