The legal firm Gibbs Mura announced the launch of a class-action investigation into the Drift Protocol theft incident in the United States, involving approximately $280 million to $285 million. It is reported that over $230 million USDC was transferred to Ethereum via Circle's cross-chain transfer protocol (CCTP). Gibbs Mura believes that although Circle has the technical capability to freeze funds, no freezing action was taken during this attack. The firm is currently assessing whether investors can file claims against Circle for "not intervening in time," "insufficient monitoring," and "failure to fulfill stablecoin responsibilities." They also call on affected users to participate in the lawsuit to help recover the funds.
