What Important Updates Are There
.April 8 (Wednesday) subscription reminder: Shangleshui Intelligent’s subscription code is 301513, its issue price is 26.66 yuan per share, and the subscription limit is 6k shares. Investing involves risk, so apply cautiously.
.The latest statistics released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on April 7 show that, as of the end of March 2026, China’s foreign exchange reserves were 33k USD, down by 85.7 billion USD from the end of February, a decrease of 2.5%. Although China’s foreign exchange reserves decreased month-on-month at the end of March, they are still at a high level over the past decade, and have remained stable above 3.3 trillion USD for 8 consecutive months.
.Data from the People’s Bank of China shows that China’s gold reserves as of the end of March were 74.38 million ounces, compared with 74.22 million ounces at the end of February, marking the 17th consecutive month of increasing gold holdings.
.Recently, reporters learned from industry insiders that the China Securities Association has conducted analysis and interpretation of securities firms’ 2025 operating performance. The China Securities Association said that securities companies have actively carried out operations under the swap facilitation mechanism, increased their counter-cyclical layout, and with practical actions stabilized the market and bolstered confidence among investors, helping support the long-term healthy development of the capital market. By the end of 2025, the cumulative amount under swap facilitation operations was 105 billion yuan, bringing incremental capital to A-shares and enhancing the capital market’s inherent stability.
.The National Development and Reform Commission announced on the 7th that, according to the finished-product oil pricing mechanism, effective from 24:00 on April 7, China’s domestic gasoline and diesel prices should be increased by 800 yuan and 770 yuan per ton, respectively. After regulation, the actual increases were 420 yuan and 400 yuan per ton. A deputy director, Lü Zhichen, from the Price Cost and Verification Center of the National Development and Reform Commission said that under this adjustment, the maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel should be increased by 800 yuan and 770 yuan per ton, respectively, but the actual increases were 420 yuan and 400 yuan per ton—meaning 380 yuan and 370 yuan less, respectively. This translates to 92-octane gasoline increasing by 0.31 yuan less per liter and 0# diesel increasing by 0.32 yuan less per liter. Preliminary estimates suggest that a private car filling up a full tank could pay about 15 yuan less; a heavy truck filling up a full tank could pay 150 to 200 yuan less.
.The head of Iran’s Securities Exchange Organization said on local time on the 7th that four plans are currently being formulated for the reopening of Iran’s stock market: (1) Maintaining existing conditions, meaning only allowing fund trading, or reopening under existing conditions but not publicly disclosing information; (2) Escalation of the war situation, which may lead to all trading, including trading by funds, being suspended; (3) Reopening after a written ceasefire agreement; (4) In the absence of a ceasefire agreement, gradually reopening. Iran’s stock market previously paused trading on March 1. (CCTV News)
.The head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Fatih Birol, said that the severity of the current global energy crisis is “even more serious than the combined crises of 1973, 1979, and 2022.” He predicted that the crisis will accelerate the development and growth of renewable energy, nuclear energy, and electric vehicles. In an interview report published on France’s Le Figaro on the 7th, Birol said that in the short term, countries should “as cautiously as possible” conserve energy, because the global energy market may face a “Black April.” “If the strait remains closed throughout the entire month of April, the shortfall of crude oil and refined oil will be more than twice that of March.” (Xinhua News Agency)
