Sulin elected as President of Vietnam
Local time on April 7, at the 16th National Assembly session in Vietnam, Sây Linh was elected President of Vietnam.
Sây Linh was born in July 1957 in Hưng Yên Province in northern Vietnam, and has long worked with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security. From April 2016 to May 2024, Sây Linh served as Minister of Public Security. In May 2024, Sây Linh was elected President. In August 2024, Sây Linh was elected General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and in October 2024 he no longer served as President of Vietnam. (CCTV correspondent Wang Yu)
