Wawa recalls 4 bottled drinks in 5 states over undeclared milk allergen
Wawa is recalling four bottled beverages sold across five states after identifying a temporary equipment issue that may have introduced an undeclared milk allergen into the drinks.
The recall, announced April 3, covers 16-ounce pints of Wawa Iced Tea Lemon, Wawa Iced Tea Diet Lemon, Wawa Diet Lemonade, and Wawa Fruit Punch produced by the Wawa Beverage Company. Distribution was confined to select locations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Virginia. The recall is limited to those five states and does not extend to any other Wawa beverages, per Wawa.

For those with a milk allergy, consuming the affected drinks could trigger reactions the FDA describes as serious or potentially fatal, as Newsweek reported. No illnesses have been reported.
The Wawa Iced Tea Lemon, with UPC 726191018425 and a code date of May 15, 2026, reached the largest number of locations: 123 stores across all five affected states. The Fruit Punch, UPC 726191018432 with a code date of May 19, 2026, was sold at 53 stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. The Iced Tea Diet Lemon, UPC 726191018548 with a code date of May 18, 2026, went to eight stores in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Diet Lemonade, UPC 726191055901 with a code date of May 18, 2026, was distributed to 12 stores in Delaware and New Jersey, as Today reported. Code dates are printed on the tops of the bottles.
Wawa says none of the recalled drinks remain available for purchase, having already been pulled and destroyed at affected locations. A temporary malfunction in equipment was pinpointed as the cause and has since been fixed, CBS News reported.
Anyone who bought one of the affected beverages should throw it away. To obtain a refund in the form of a Wawa gift card, shoppers can reach the company online at wawa.com or by phone at 1-800-444-9292, where customer service is available around the clock.
