Standing Committee Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Board of Anta Group, Ding Shizhong: Innovative Sports Consumption Support Policies and Deepening Cross-Industry Integration
As a witness and practitioner of China’s sports industry, Ding Shizhong—this year’s proposal by a Standing Committee member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Anta Group—focuses on directions including helping expand domestic demand and building a sports powerhouse, strengthening the status of private enterprises as innovation entities, and using sports to guide the construction of mental health for young people. The Central Economic Work Conference called for “adhering to domestic demand as the primary driver and building a strong domestic market.” Ding Shizhong believes that, as a green industry and a sunrise industry, the sports industry can help boost the development of related industry chains and contribute to expanding domestic demand, but that there are still practical problems such as insufficient effective supply for sports consumption and a single range of consumption scenarios. Therefore, he suggests improving and innovating sports consumption support policies, deepening “sports+” cross-industry integration, promoting in-depth coordination across upstream and downstream of the industry chain, further enriching consumption supply, developing sports services for multiple groups across multiple scenarios, promoting the “sports-health integration” initiative, and systematically activating sports consumption.
