ME News report: On April 5 (UTC+8), Jin10 News, Klaas Knot, a member of the European Central Bank’s Executive Board and governor of the Dutch central bank, said in a podcast episode aired on April 4 that the ECB will next discuss options involving rate hikes and keeping interest rates unchanged. He believes this will be the focus of the discussion around the ECB’s interest rate decision on April 30. Although there will be new data to reference by then, the amount will be limited. He added, “At the moment, we are in the same situation as the Federal Reserve; we don’t know how the interest-rate path will develop. But in any case, we will ultimately make a decision based on the data available at that time.” (Source: Jin 10)
