23:15:46【Pakistan continues mediating U.S.-Iran negotiations; the next few hours are “crucial”】China Finance Network April 7 reports: Two Pakistani sources said that mediation between the United States and Iran is still ongoing, with Pakistan serving as the main intermediary passing along proposals from both sides, but no substantive compromise has yet appeared.
The sources said that Iran has recently launched attacks on industrial facilities related to Saudi Arabia and U.S. companies, which may seriously affect the progress of the negotiations. A senior Pakistani security official said that if Saudi Arabia retaliates, the negotiations could be interrupted, and Pakistan could even be pulled into the conflict—potentially due to its defense agreements with Saudi Arabia.
Another source noted that the next few hours are “crucial” for the outlook of the negotiations. On one hand, Iran has shown flexibility and willingness to engage in dialogue; on the other, it still insists on tough preconditions. Pakistan is urging Iran to return to negotiations without setting preconditions.
Earlier, an Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that information between the U.S. and Iran is still exchanged through intermediaries. But a senior Iranian source revealed that Tehran has rejected a proposal for a temporary ceasefire and requires that the stopping of U.S.-Iran strikes and obtaining compensation be set as the precondition for negotiations. In addition, on the 7th, three senior Iranian officials said that Iran has notified Pakistan that it will no longer participate in talks aimed at a ceasefire.
