TRON initiates Proposal #106 voting to adjust the SELFDESTRUCT mechanism to improve TVM compatibility
ME News update: On April 7 (UTC+8), the TRON Network Super Representative (SR) has submitted Proposal No. 106 and entered the committee voting stage. If the proposal is approved, it is expected to take effect on April 10 at 20:00 (Singapore time). The proposal plans to adjust the execution behavior and cost of the SELFDESTRUCT instruction: the contract will be actually deleted only when this instruction is called within the same transaction that creates the contract; in other cases, only the contract assets will be transferred, and the contract itself will not be deleted. At the same time, the energy consumption of SELFDESTRUCT will be adjusted from 0 to 5000. If the proposal is approved, the related mechanism will further be aligned with Ethereum, which will help improve TVM compatibility. TRON reminds developers who used SELFDESTRUCT to closely follow the proposal’s progress and make adaptation preparations in advance. If nodes experience desynchronization, it is recommended to first check whether they have been upgraded to v4.8.1. (Source: ChainCatcher)
