Just looked into which parts of Florida are actually the richest, and the data is wild. Turns out Miami and Fort Lauderdale absolutely dominate - like half of Florida's wealthiest suburbs are clustered around those metros.
Palm Beach is sitting at the top with an average household income of $356,467 and homes averaging $10.2M. That's not even real money anymore, that's a different universe. Pinecrest follows at $312K household income with typical homes around $2.4M.
What's interesting is how concentrated this wealth is. The Miami-Fort Lauderdale area has 12 of the top 24 richest suburbs in the entire state. Places like Coral Gables, Parkland, and Jupiter are all pulling in $160K-$230K average household income. Even the more "affordable" ones on this list like Lake Mary and Apollo Beach are still pushing $140K-$150K.
If you're looking at the richest part of Florida, it's basically the southeast coast around Miami-Fort Lauderdale corridor. Some Orlando suburbs like Winter Park and Lake Butler make the cut too, but nothing compares to the concentration down south.
The median home values tell you everything - we're talking $500K to $10M+ range. So yeah, Florida's wealthiest areas are exactly where you'd expect them to be. Pretty wild how stratified it gets when you look at the actual numbers.
