NYT: Argentina’s President was found to have made 7 calls to people from the LIBRA project on the day of launch

The New York Times reports that Argentine President Javier Milei on February 14, 2025, the day the LIBRA project was launched, called entrepreneur Mauricio Novelli seven times—both before and after his promotional post on X was published. According to the outlet, a record of a supposed payment and draft documents about financing were also found on his phone, casting doubt on Milei’s statements that he had no connection to the project. No formal charges have been brought against him yet, but in the investigation he is listed as a key suspect.
