Lyon released a research report stating that in March this year, Macau’s total gross gaming revenue was 22.6 billion Macau patacas, up 15% year over year. It was 4% to 5% higher than the market and the bank’s forecasts, implying that the average daily gaming revenue for the past week (March 23 to 31) was 778 million Macau patacas, higher than the average daily gaming revenue for the first 22 days of March by 10%. The bank said that although this may be due to a win rate higher than usual, gaming demand remains steady despite recent tensions in the geopolitical situation.

The bank expects Macau’s total gross gaming revenue in April to grow 11% year over year to 20.9 billion Macau patacas, in line with market expectations. It also prefers Galaxy Entertainment (00027) and MGM China (02282), both rated “Outperform,” with target prices of HK$49.5 and HK$20.9, respectively.
