On April 7, Indonesian authorities recently sentenced three defendants to charges of funding terrorism with cryptocurrency, becoming one of the first cases in Southeast Asia to rely primarily on on-chain blockchain evidence for terrorism financing convictions. One of the defendants transferred over 49,000 USDT to an overseas exchange through 15 transactions, with the fund flow linked to ISIS-related networks. The three defendants did not directly participate in terrorist attacks; their roles are characterized as the "financial logistics layer" of the terrorist organization.
