Equipping primary and secondary schools in areas with weak emergency response capacity with AEDs, and advancing first-aid education into schools by the Ministry of Education.
To advance first-aid education on campus, improve the first-aid literacy and skills of teachers and students, recently the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued a notice titled “Notice on Carrying Out the ‘Protecting Life’s First Lesson’ Public Welfare Project.” Through methods such as public welfare donations, it supports local areas in carrying out in-depth efforts to disseminate first-aid knowledge, equip first-aid facilities, and provide first-aid skills training, so as to effectively protect the life and health of young people.
The notice emphasizes that to do a good job with the “Protecting Life’s First Lesson” public welfare project, it is necessary to cultivate a public spirit among teachers and students that respects life and is willing to help others through knowledge dissemination and skills training. It also calls for coordinated and linked advancement: relying on support from public welfare funding, bringing together multiple forces including education, health care, public welfare organizations, and enterprises to form a working synergy. It further stresses categorized and tiered implementation: taking into account the physical and mental characteristics of students across different schooling stages, carrying out targeted work on equipment allocation, training, and course development, and giving priority to meeting the needs of key regions and schools.
