Harvard’s top board adds Blackstone CFO, ex-cabinet secretary

Harvard University has appointed Blackstone CFO Michael Chae and former Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell to its governing board. These appointments come as the university faces increased pressure and scrutiny from the Trump administration, including a lawsuit over alleged antisemitism and disputes regarding federal grant funding. Burwell and Chae will join the 13-member board in July, succeeding departing members.
