Iranian Diplomat in Cairo: Iran Prefers Diplomatic Solutions but Faced Attacks During Negotiations

On April 5, according to a report by Sputnik on April 4, Mojtaba Ferdowsipour, head of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Cairo, stated in an interview that Iran prefers to resolve issues through diplomatic means, but the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran twice during negotiations. Ferdowsipour said, ‘We have always adhered to diplomatic methods during crises. In 2025, we were at the negotiating table, but at that time the U.S. and Israel attacked us. Progress was made in reaching an agreement afterwards, but then attacks occurred again.’ The U.S. and Israel began striking targets within Iran on February 28. Iran retaliated against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.
