Ministry of Commerce: Further leverage the role of the China-U.S. Economic and Trade Consultation Mechanism to strengthen dialogue and communication
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 2 (reporters Wang Yuhao and Xie Xiyao) — At a regular press conference held on April 2, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, He Yadong, said in response to a question about China-U.S. economic and trade relations that, since last year, under the strategic guidance of important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, China and the United States have gone through six rounds of economic and trade consultations and achieved a series of consultation outcomes in the economic and trade field, injecting more stability and certainty into bilateral economic and trade relations and the world economy. The facts fully demonstrate that adhering to mutual respect and equal dialogue and consultation is the best way to bridge differences and solve problems. China and the United States should implement well the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and the results of the previous economic and trade consultations, further give full play to the role of the China-U.S. economic and trade consultation mechanism, strengthen dialogue and communication, properly manage differences, expand pragmatic cooperation, and promote the healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-U.S. economic and trade relations.
