On April 3, in accordance with the deployment and instructions of the Ministry of Public Security, with strong assistance from our overseas embassies and relevant law enforcement authorities abroad, the Liaoning public security organs escorted criminal suspect Wang [surname] [given name] back to China from abroad, where he had been on the run for nearly a decade, in connection with an alleged loan fraud case.

According to information, between April and December 2014, Wang [surname] [given name], using the name of a company he operated, defrauded a bank of a loan of 104 million yuan by providing false financial performance statements, false purchase and sales contracts, and other means, causing losses of more than 30 million yuan to the bank, and then fled abroad.

During Wang [surname] [given name]’s time on the run overseas, the public security authorities made unremitting efforts to carry out cross-border pursuit and capture of fugitives, promptly submitting requests for pursuit and capture to relevant countries and regions. On March 29, Wang [surname] [given name] was arrested by overseas law enforcement authorities and was escorted back to China on April 3.

A relevant official from the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Liaoning Provincial Public Security Department said that Wang [surname] [given name]’s successful surrender and case-filing is the result of the public security authorities continuously deepening international law enforcement cooperation, and it is also another major achievement of the Liaoning police in advancing the special campaign of “identify the cases down to the root and thoroughly investigate; eliminate evil with resolute determination,” demonstrating the firm resolve of the public security authorities to safeguard the lawful rights and interests of the people.
