ME News update, April 4 (UTC+8). An Israeli official and another person with knowledge of the matter told Axios that among the two crew members of a U.S. Air Force fighter jet that was shot down over Iran, one has already been found by U.S. special forces and successfully rescued, while the other is still being searched for. Iran is also searching for the two crew members and has called on local civilians to take part in the search. This is the first time since the war began that a U.S. military fighter jet has been shot down by enemy fire. Sources say that after the F-15 fighter was hit by Iranian fire, both crew members successfully ejected. U.S. special forces have located one of the crew members within Iran and saved him alive.
