On April 4, Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated that as investor demand surpasses the traditional narrative of ‘digital gold’, the assets under management (AUM) of spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are expected to exceed those of gold ETFs. In a Coin Stories podcast released on YouTube on Friday, Seyffart said, ‘There are more reasons to include Bitcoin ETFs in a portfolio.’ He pointed out that Bitcoin is not only digital gold and a store of value but can also serve as a diversifying asset in a portfolio, as well as a form of digital capital and digital property. At the same time, the market views Bitcoin as a ‘growth-oriented risk asset.’ Seyffart explained that Bitcoin possesses multiple attributes and narratives, whereas gold only has one. He added, ‘Our view is that the size of Bitcoin ETFs will exceed that of gold ETFs.’
