Deep Tide TechFlow message. April 04, according to The Asia Business Daily, Korean electronic payment gateway subsidiary Toss Payments of Viva Republica (Toss) announced on April 3 that it has become the first company in Korea’s finance and IT industry to fully implement post-quantum cryptography. The technology is based on complex mathematical algorithms and can withstand brute-force attacks by quantum computers. Toss Payments has deployed the technology across all of its infrastructure, covering its own data centers, cloud environments, and payment terminals, and uses a hybrid key exchange method based on the U.S. NIST standard algorithm “ML-KEM,” combining traditional elliptic curve encryption with post-quantum algorithms to address both current and future security threats.
