Coin World News on April 4 reports that Meta’s Superintelligence division is putting together a dedicated hardware team and is recruiting a senior engineer to serve as the head, further advancing its AI device roadmap. Meta previously rolled out smart glasses and VR headsets through Reality Labs, and this move comes from Meta Superintelligence Labs, which was established last year, indicating that Meta is planning to launch other types of AI devices. Insiders say that some Reality Labs engineers have already moved into MSL and are using existing hardware to prototype AI software, with the two teams currently operating in a high degree of coordination. On the personnel side, Meta is bringing in Rui Xu to serve as MSL’s hardware lead. Rui Xu previously led the hardware business of the AI agent startup Dreamer, and Meta last month absorbed the company’s core team as a whole.
