Ryanair: Europe may see an aviation fuel shortage in May
Xinhua News Agency reported on April 2 that on April 1, Michael O’Leary, chief executive officer of Ryanair, Europe’s largest low-cost airline, said that if shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, the airline may face a fuel shortfall as high as 25% from May to June, and that Europe’s aviation fuel supply will likely become tight in May.
State Grid’s fixed-asset investment rose 37% year over year in the first quarter
State Grid reported on April 2 that in the first quarter of this year, the State Grid Corporation of China completed fixed-asset investment of 129 billion yuan, up 37% year over year, driving investments of more than 250 billion yuan across the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain. Projects such as the Xi’nan ultra-high-voltage AC in Western Sichuan and back-to-back DC systems between Anhui and Hubei got off to a smooth start, while projects including Gansu—Zhejiang, Datong—Huailai—Tianjin Nan ultra-high-voltage and back-to-back DC systems in Min-Gan were fully accelerated. State Grid also completed investment in new-energy grid-connection projects of over 10 billion yuan, up more than 50% year over year.
