Rio Tinto announced that it paid $9.9 billion in taxes and royalties globally in 2025, an increase from $8.4 billion in 2024. A significant portion, $6.1 billion, was paid in Australia. The company also made substantial payments in Chile, the United States, Mongolia, and Canada, attributing increases to factors like higher tariffs and improved profits and production.
