Zaharova: Japan is accelerating its deviation from the post-war peace constitution, posing a threat to Northeast Asian security

People’s Finance News, April 1—Local time April 1, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova, at a routine press conference, responded to questions raised by a reporter from CCTV about Japan’s significant departure from post-war obligations, including the deployment of military forces in Northeast Asia. Zakharova said that Japan’s statements and actions further confirm that Japan is accelerating its departure from the pacifist principles enshrined in its constitution. That constitution had legally clarified Japan’s renunciation of the right to wage war, its renunciation of possessing armed forces, the prohibition on deploying missile systems on the home territory, and the expansion of its arsenal of new offensive weapons. However, the steps Japan is taking at present are consistent with the dangerous path of accelerating militarization.
