On March 27, People’s Finance News reported that Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said on the 27th that the U.S. military actions against Iran are a serious strategic error. According to TASS, Medvedev stated that the U.S. military actions against Iran are a serious strategic mistake made by the White House, and “the next U.S. government is likely to pay the price for this mistake.” Medvedev noted that the conflict in the Middle East is unlikely to end in the short term. He pointed out that over the past seventy to eighty years, the peace process in the Middle East has been slow, and there are no signs of peaceful resolution to the related conflicts, with the situation worsening. Medvedev stated that if the U.S. launches ground military actions in Iran, it will be fatal for all parties involved in the conflict, and the U.S. will face consequences similar to those of the Vietnam War.
