On March 28, People’s Financial News reported that recently, the State Council Food Safety Office held discussions with responsible officials from the Chengdu and Hechuan District governments in Chongqing regarding food safety issues exposed during the 2026 CCTV “March 15” Gala. They urged local authorities to strictly investigate and punish illegal activities in accordance with the law, thoroughly analyze the causes of the problems, identify weak links in their work, and learn from this to take effective corrective measures to ensure the safety of food for the public. The State Administration for Market Regulation also held discussions with responsible officials from the governments of Hangzhou, Wenzhou, Suzhou, Zhengzhou, and Shenyang regarding other related issues exposed during the gala.
