NVIDIA launches Vera CPU, specially designed for agent-based AI
NVIDIA Vera CPU provides the highest performance and energy efficiency for large-scale data processing, AI training, and agent-based inference.
NVIDIA today announced the NVIDIA Vera CPU, the world’s first processor specifically designed for the era of agent-based AI and reinforcement learning, which is twice as efficient as traditional rack-level CPUs and offers a 50% speed increase.
As inference and agent-based AI evolve, scale, performance, and cost increasingly depend on the infrastructure supporting the models responsible for planning tasks, running tools, interacting with data, executing code, and validating results.
The NVIDIA Vera CPU is built on the successful experience of the NVIDIA Grace CPU, enabling organizations of all sizes across various industries to construct AI factories and unleash the potential of agent-based AI on a large scale. With exceptional single-threaded performance and per-core bandwidth, Vera redefines the CPU. It provides higher AI throughput, responsiveness, and efficiency, thus supporting large-scale AI services such as programming assistants and agent applications aimed at consumers and enterprises.
Leading hyperscale companies collaborating with NVIDIA to deploy Vera include Alibaba, CoreWeave, Meta, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, as well as global system manufacturers like Dell Technologies, HPE, Lenovo, and Supermicro. This widespread adoption makes Vera the new CPU standard for AI workloads that developers, startups, public and private institutions, and enterprises prioritize, helping more people access AI equitably and accelerate innovation.
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated, “AI is reaching a turning point, and Vera has arrived in response. As intelligence becomes proactive—capable of reasoning and taking action—the focus shifts to orchestrating these tasks. CPUs are no longer just supporting models; they are beginning to drive them. With groundbreaking performance and energy efficiency, Vera enables AI systems to achieve faster computation speeds and broader scalability.”
